This Indenture made the seaventh day
of Aprill Anno dm 1645 and in the one and twentieth
yeare of the rainge of our soverainge lord Charles pr
BetweeneRichard Heath of Newcastle –
under lyme in the county of Staff- Tanner and
Thomas Bagnall of Newcastle aforesaid in the
said county of Staffgent\yeoman/ on the one party And
John Heath of Lond Scrivener on the other party
Wittnesseththat  they the said Richard Heath
and Thomas Bagnall accordoinge to the trust
in that behalfe in them reposed, have graunted
enfeoffed and confirmed and by their presents
doe graunte anfeoffe and confirme to the said
 John Heath his his heires and assignes for ever all
that messuage or tenement with th’ appurtenments
 comonly callled or knowne by the name of the
Woodhouse scituate lyinge and beinge in Louckton
in the Parish of Stoake upon Trent in the
said county of Staff. And all landes tenements
Thomas Bagnall of Newcastle aforesaid in the

Meadows leasowes closes pastures ffeedings
woods underwoods mynes quarries maies waters
watercourses pathes passages casements proffitte
comons comodities and hereditaments whatsoever
to the said messuage or tenements belongeinge or in any
wife appertayneing and whith now are or late were
in the severall tenures or occupacons of Richard
Thorley of Woodhouses aforesaid yeoman and the
said John Heath or their assignes or under tenanment
and all those three cottages or tenements with their
appurtenments now or late in the several tenures
of occupations of Maragrett Harrison Raphe x
Adderley and Raphe Wood or their assignes scituate
lying and beinge in Woodhouses and Longton in
the Parish of Stoake upon Trent aforesaid and
all the estate right title interest and demand ofe
then the aid Ricahrd Heath and Thomas Bagnall
of in and to the said premisses or any parte theirof
and the Renton and Rentons remainder and
remainers rents and services of the said x
premisses and of every parte thereof with all and
every their appurtenments to have and to hould
the said messuage cottages or tenements and all x
other the premisses with all and every their xx
appurtenments to the said John Heath his heires
and assignes forever to the onely use and behoofe of
the said John Heath his heires & assignes for ever
to be houlden of the cheife Lords of the ffee thereof
by the rents and services therefore due and of
right accustomed Andthey the said Richard
 Heath and Thomas Bagnall and their heires
the said premisses and every parte thereof with all
and every their appurtenments to him the said
John Heath his heires and assignes against
them the said Richard Heath and Thomas x
Bagnall their heires and assignes and against
all and every person and persons lawfully claymeing

by from or under them or any of them shall and
will warrant and forever defend by their presence
except onely one seale thereof made by them the
said Richard Heath and Thomas Bagnall att
the request and by the appoyntment of the said
John Heath to Richard Boulton of Newcastle
aforesaid yeoman for the terme of three yeares
to be accompted from the ffeast of the Purificacon
of the Blessed Virgin Mary now last past
whereupon the yearely rent of one penny
is reserved to be paid yearely att Michaelmas
onely if lawfully demanded In wittness [.c]
